Previous Next 9. Make 30mm wide strips from the supplied 3oz fiberglass. Sand the surface around the seams to remove the shine from the skin. Glue fiberglass strips using foam safe CA or laminating epoxy. Fast epoxy will give you a nasty yellow color, especially after some sun exposure. When gluing fiberglass on the bottom of the joints, spray it very lightly with 3M77 and apply it to the joint, then soak it with glue. 10. Put the wing into the saddle and mark the locations of the holes in the bulkhead on the leading edge of the wing. 11. Make holes in the wing's leading edge at the marked locations. You can use X-actor knife for "drilling". The holes do not have to be deep, only through the skin. Sharpen the carbon pins and insert them into the holes. Make sure to angle the pins down a little. Pull the pins out, apply foam safe CA and insert them again. 12. Put the wing back into the saddle and notice how well the pins are aligned with the holes in the bulkhead. The holes are undersized on purpose. Enlarge the holes using a small round file in the needed direction so that the holes are centered with respect to the wing pins. Previous Next
